Susan Keiser has had solo exhibitions at the Griffin Museum of Photography, Lexington, MA, and The Barrett Art Center, Poughkeepsie, NY, and two-person shows at Catalyst Gallery, Beacon, NY. Her photographs have been juried into exhibitions at a wide range of institutions and galleries, including The Center for Fine Art Photography, CO; Texas Photographic Society, TX; Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, CA; Fairfield Museum and History Center, CT: SUNY Cortland, NY; Vermont Center for Photography, VT; New York Center for Photographic Art, NY; SE Center for Photography, SC; PhotoPlace Gallery, VT; Black Box Gallery, OR; B Complex Gallery, GA; A Smith Gallery,TX: Candela Books + Gallery, VA; Darkroom Gallery, VT; and PH21 Gallery, Budapest, Hungary. Portfolios of her work have been published in Lenscratch, Float Photo Magazine, F-Stop, Light Leaked, and Vasa: Journal on Images and Culture.

 

In addition to her photographic work Keiser has created site-specific sculptures commissioned by public and private institutions, including the Milwaukee Art Museum, Milwaukee, WI; Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, MN; Rockefeller Center, New York, NY; and the International Design Conference in Aspen, Aspen, CO.

 

The recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts grant, she was a resident teaching artist at the Lincoln Center Institute, New York, NY; curated a collection of handmade paper art for The Neurosciences Institute, La Jolla, CA; and was selected for the viewing program and Artist Registry of The Drawing Center, New York, NY.

 

Keiser was a Senior Editor at Oxford University Press and Manager of the Rock and Native Plant Gardens at The New York Botanical Garden. She attended Pomona College and holds a BFA in painting from The Cooper Union and a diploma from The New York Botanical Garden’s School of Professional Horticulture.
